We have many reasons for failure, blaming it on him or her. You are never a failure until you begin to blame somebody else. We may attempt to shift the blame to others, but there is no escaping to the fact that it is the biggest lie to believe that you are not responsible for your own actions. The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You don’t blame them on your mother, the economy or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny —Albert Ellis— We build great monuments of emptiness when we think that our success lies in sources other than us. When you accept personal responsibility for your life and your success, the whole world looks different, your world becomes different. You see only two beings, yourself and God. And your capability and ability is widened to set your imagination free. You begin to think outside the square, to be creative, inventive, resourceful, and to think beyond the obvious. When you know it’s up to you and no one else, you prepare better, study more, learn more, and have greater resolve. God-given abilities and talents surface at this stance, you learn to use more of them and at that show more self-reliance. The success hints provided in this book becomes productive if you accept that whether you succeed or fail, it’s your decision and responsibility. Mistakes have hidden powers to help us, but they fail in their mission of helping us because of us. We give up the power to change and improve by crediting the blame on others. When you make a mistake and make an excuse for it, you have made two mistakes. Take responsibility of your life. Too many people expect little, ask for little and as well receive little. They show responsibility to little dreams and they don’t go farther than those dreams. Let your responsibility see your life as your own; your destiny in your hands; your achievement in your ability; your strength in your will power; and the grace of God.

ONE NIGERIA: THE HEART AND GAINT OF AFRICA.

One of the most important organs of the human body is the heart. A bundle of muscle, the heart is cone shaped organ which works like a pump to drive blood throughout the body. It is divided into two parts, the left and the right which are separated in the middle by a septum. Each side is further divided into two parts, an upper chamber and a lower one. In all, therefore, there are four chambers in the heart, two above, two below. Only the chambers on one side connect. The septum prevents blood from one side flowing into the other. Nevertheless, but both sides, that is all the four chambers, work together in unison, to pump blood round the body. However, any disturbance to blood flow along the way will, ultimately, affect the heart.

Like the heart, Nigeria is one of the most important countries in Africa. A bundle of talents, Nigeria is cone shaped country (map) which works to drive life throughout Africa. It is divided into two parts, the North and the South, which are separated by tribalism and ideology. Each side is further divided into geo-political zones. In all, therefore, there are six geo-political zones in Nigeria, three above (North) and three below (South). Only the zones on one side connect very well to the production of crude oil. The tribalism and difference in ideology prevents life from one side flowing into the other and vis-à-vis. Nevertheless, but both sides, that’s all the six geo-political zones, work together in unison to pump life round the nation. However, any disturbance to life flow along the way will, ultimately, affect the country.

The reason for this write-up isn’t to compare (Nigeria) the country with the heart, but to point out the disturbances to the life flow along the way to the progress of this country. Nigeria as a united nation undoubtedly has a prosperous future. She will no longer pay lip service to the dictum of being ‘the giant of Africa’, she will actualize it. The south is endowed with oil and other mineral deposits; the north on the other hand is rich in agriculture and precious metals and stones. The duel has a high prestigious labour force ― what else does a country need to progress? Good leadership.

 The state of the country’s leadership today seems to be the worst since the inception of the fourth republic. Many political and religious leaders are calling for the resignation of Mr. President; others are working hard ahead of 2015 general elections. The president himself is working hard to stay put in Aso Rock while his MDAs are working the economy to their own taste. At the state level, the call for a state police by the leadership has taken the lead: the south proposing on the ‘debate’ with the north as the opposing masters! All these are happening at a time the country is going down in shambles.

The Nigerian youths are the only hope to the progress of this country, but still, this hope seems to be dwindling as the day goes by. The truth is that there are few or no records to be broken in Nigeria, and no torch to be passed on. The only torch the older generations pass to the youths is that of corruption and immoralities. The man (the airport taxi driver) who tried passing a torch of integrity by returning the sum of N18m forgotten in his cab to the owner has so far been financially rewarded with the sum of N30,000 only! This reward will even stir the minds of the youths who follow the part of integrity against receiving truly the torch ― what is N30, 000 when compared to N18m.

While the ‘Boko Haram’ menace is eating up the north, the south is in rising fear of kidnapping, armed robbery and oil theft. While the indigenes of Bakassi have declared their call to the United Nations, the Republic of Biafra is to be declared later in the year (the Nation Newspaper, Wed. Aug. 22, 2012, pg.58).

Nigeria as one and a united nation will have no limit to her greatness; she will grow to becoming more than a giant in Africa, her head will be seen and recognized in the globe. But now, will she make it out of this ‘labour room’? How long will our leaders keep managing a country full of potentials? Will one Nigeria work at all?

The Genius Above Limitations

“The gift of a man makes room for him and brings him before great people”. But who is the man whose gift has brought him before great men? Is he the man with no challenges* or the man above them? We often say that the sky is our success limit, and then if it’s the limit, are we above limitations? Who is the one above limitations?

Every person is created with the natural ability to do something worthwhile in life. Your life is a gift from God with many opportunities and great potentials. Your life itself is not on your control, but what you make of your life is at full control of your innate tendency which drives you to do that thing which you are excited at doing. The ability to do something well is an asset that is naturally deposited in you by God. The responsibility to discover and develop the hidden potentials in your life remains the ultimate pursuit, nothing more is worth it. The desire to excel is truly worth your earnest and unrelenting commitment and it’s one thing worth pursuing with all concentration. You’ve got to make it your one grand pursuit whether it’s convenient or otherwise. The ability is there to perform excellently if you care to discover it for proper utilization. You’ve got to learn to autograph your work with excellence.

‘I am the one above limitations!” Tell yourself this. Indeed we are created to be above limitations. Though the encroachment of sin into the heart of mankind, humans still retain the image of God, the psalmist declares, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knows right well.” God is above limitations; if you think you’re not above limitations (being an image of God), go into a power station and hug a transformer, you are as secure as your wisdom. God who is perfect made no mistake in your creation. All you need to prosper in life were put within your system at creation. No matter how much you have suffered or fainted in life, you still have value. Yes! You might have been ruffled by life’s circumstances, people have been ruffled before you, you are not the first. You might be tempted to ask, “those who have been ruffled by their circumstances aren’t they above limitations?” They are, the challenges will be a proof… Never try to concentrate on your weaknesses or fault when doing your work. Just appreciate your little strength and advance gallantly to perform at your best. You are a genius, and I greet it!

Iheanyi's Steps Of Rising Above Limitations (part 1)

No one ever attains very eminent success by simply doing what is required of him; it's the amount and excellence of what is over and  above the required that determines the greatness of ultimate decision. The ultimate decision is to be above limitations.
For HE who tends to be above limitations, positive encouragement and motivation is a must, the provision of empathic encouragement as a reward of the pursuit, a foresight achievement, minimizes the frustration of failure and so remains a neccessity...it removes the frictions which draws us into new depths of despair and then leads us into awesome and greater heights of accomplishment.
The desire to excel is worth your earnest and unrelenting commitment and it's one thing worth pursuing with all concentration. You've got to make it your grand pursuit, whether it's convenience or otherwise. The existence to realize that you can be above limitations is purely, remains the ultimate pursuit.
